Paul Maxwell’s new challenge in aid of local charities

Following Paul’s successful 50 half-marathon challenge during 2023-24, raising an incredible £11,734 for Devon Mind and Livewell South West, he has now set himself his next ambitious 10-year challenge to Change The Tape.

Since completing his challenge to run 50 half-marathons in one year to mark turning 50 in July 2023, raising vital funds and awareness, Paul has decided to continue his mission for a 10-year plan of challenges with the hope to raise over £100,000 for various charities. This year Paul will be completing 12 half-marathons and 12 full-marathons over the next 12 months in aid of Devon Mind, Livewell Foundation, and MND Plymouth. You can support his JustGiving page here.

On Sunday 1 December at 7am Paul will be running a marathon around Burrator Reservoir and is sharing an open invitation for anyone to come along and get involved, whether that be walking or jogging a loop, or joining the full 26.2 miles. Some of the Devon Mind team will also be attending and cheering on the runners. We would love to see you there!

Change the Tape hosts regular community runs encouraging members of the community to join the mission whilst improving their own mental wellbeing, whether that be a short walk and talk, a Friday night run, a 10K, or the whole 13.1-mile run. Paul also hosts community socials on Wednesdays and anyone looking to change their lifestyle, or get involved is invited to join the CTT Yellow Submarine. You can find out more information here.

The Devon Mind team would like to share a massive thank you to Paul for continuing to support us throughout his next impressive challenge. We are extremely grateful to have been one of the chosen charities for such an engaging fundraising campaign that continues to help increase awareness of health and wellbeing support within our local community.
