Exeter Chiefs star auctioning signed Scotland shirt for Devon Mind

Exeter Chiefs second-row Sam Skinner is auctioning a signed shirt worn in a recent match to raise money for Devon Mind. The shirt, which the Premiership rugby union star wore in Scotland’s Autumn Nations win over Australia earlier this month, is signed by the whole Scotland team.

Launched last week on the online auction platform GalaBid, the auction for Skinner’s signed jersey has already reached a bid of £1,200. All proceeds from the auction will be used by Devon Mind to help improve mental health support services helping people across Devon, including Exeter.

Sam first reached out to Devon Mind at the beginning of November, after taking on a ‘Movember’-type challenge in aid of the charity. With half the month still to go, the fundraiser has reached just over £400 of its £500 target from 23 generous donors. You can also contribute here.

Andre Pusey, Marketing & Fundraising Manager at Devon Mind, commented about the fundraisers: “It’s amazing to see someone like Sam supporting a local charity like Devon Mind. Mental health and sports go hand-in-hand in so many ways, and it’s great to see more sporting personalities recognising that, both locally and nationally. We also know that many individuals and groups we’ve spoken with are passionate about men’s mental health in particular, so for someone in a high-profile position from a top rugby club to be showing his support to us is absolutely invaluable. We look forward to hopefully working more with Sam and Exeter Chiefs in the future!”
