Giveaway: Win a signed print of a striking local art piece

Becky Bettesworth, an established artist based in Torbay, has kindly donated a signed print of one of her latest art pieces for one lucky Devon Mind follower to win!

Seas the Day was created to capture the stunning cruise ships that have anchored quietly offshore in Torbay and along the coast during 2020/21. Gazing out to sea at these ships offers a symbol of hope on the horizon, in what has been an incredibly difficult time for so many people. Seas the Day was produced to remind us to do the things we want to do when there is the chance, instead of waiting for a later time. The rainbow is an iconic symbol during these strange times, and a reminder of hope and better times ahead.

Writing on her website, Becky added that “I was also inspired to create this picture due to the current global situation we are in. Due to COVID, I feel it is even more important to be aware of mental health, especially in teenagers, boys and men. I feel my picture has deep connotations of keeping strong and can be linked with someone's inner mental state of mind.”

Inspired to use her artwork for good, Becky has pledged to donate £1 from every sale of a Seas the Day print to the national Mind charity, contributing to raising awareness of mental health across the country. She has also kindly donated a signed A2 print to Devon Mind for this giveaway.
