Frequently asked questions:
-
Most of our volunteers will be serving as marshals on the run's route. Your job will be to ensure that runners know which way the route goes, encouraging them as they go past and providing any additional support they may ask for. You will also have a link back to event staff and medical support, in case of anything that needs extra attention. Some of our volunteers will also be assigned to water stations along the route.
-
We're anticipating that most volunteers will be needed for up to 3 hours roughly. If you are only able to dedicate 1 or 2 hours, we can try to put you near the beginning of the route, so that you can leave once the runners have made it past you. Register your details and we'll discuss your needs with you.
-
Depending on the time you can commit, your location, and any accessibility needs, we may be able to give you a preferred location on the route for marshalling. We encourage you to register your details below, then we'll get in touch and discuss this with you. We'll try to accommodate everyone's needs as far as we can!

Volunteers will be given two-way radios which link them back to event staff, in case they need to contact them at any time. Also using the radios will be our medical support staff, in case you need to report anything that requires medical attention. You will be given a high-visibility jacket and a volunteer lanyard so that you are easily visible to runners and members of the public.

Devon Mind will reimburse you for reasonables expenses incurred for car parking, as long as this is arranged with and approved by our staff before the event. Unfortunately, we are unable to reimburse volunteers for additional expenses such as travel.
