A shoutout to this year’s Plymouth Harbour Runs sponsors and partners

Our second annual Plymouth Harbour 10K — part of the Plymouth Harbour Runs 2023/24 — is coming up in just over three weeks (Sunday 10 September 2023). This flagship event in the Devon Mind calendar is aimed at engaging new and budding runners with an accessible running challenge focused less on times and more on community feel, support and mental wellbeing.

A lot of planning, responding to feedback and enlisting volunteers goes into the 10K and its sister half marathon (which this year is scheduled for Sunday 17 March 2024). But it’s not just the Devon Mind team that puts in the effort — we work with numerous incredible businesses and other groups across Plymouth to make it the most amazing event we possibly can.

Without the following people, the Plymouth Harbour Runs simply wouldn’t be what they are.

Cattewater Harbour Commissioners — Headline Sponsor

First and foremost, we want to give a huge shoutout to Cattewater Harbour Commissioners, the headline sponsor for the 2023 10K and 2024 Half. CHC first got involved with the Plymouth Harbour Runs for their inaugural outing last year, serving as co-headline sponsor for our first ever 10K. The partnership is a match made in heaven, as much of the event’s iconic route goes around Cattewater Harbour, taking in the sights of Mount Batten, Turnchapel, Cattedown and more. You can view the full route here.

CHC is the statutory and competent harbour authority for the port of Plymouth. They are required to maintain and order safe navigation for all manner of craft which might present themselves to the harbour by surveying and dredging the channels, maintaining navigation marks and lights, providing pilotage services and traffic regulation, and pilotage services to the remainder of the civil port.

This year, as with the 2022 10K, CHC has enlisted the services of Different View Photography to provide additional photography and drone video coverage of the event. You can check out their epic ‘flyby’ footage of last year’s run below.

BLOCK — Supporting Sponsor

Next up is our supporting sponsor, BLOCK Plymouth. As one of our corporate partners for 2023/24, BLOCK has supported Devon Mind in a number of ways over the past few months — from running a quiz night in aid of the charity, to donating free meeting spaces for our senior management team. Now, they’ve joined the Plymouth Harbour Runs team for this year’s 10K and Half.

As part of their involvement in this year’s events, we’re pleased to announce that some of the team from the incredible BLOCK Gym will be running an official warm-up before the 10K on Sunday 10 September 2023! It is of course optional to take part, but we can guarantee it’ll be a fun way of getting amped up ready for your 10km run back to the Barbican! Make sure you arrive on time to take advantage of this offer.

Rockets & Rascals — Service Partner

Finally, we’re shining the light on our official service partner and one of the best cafes on the Barbican, Rockets & Rascals! Located on The Parade, Rockets & Rascals serves as the official finish line for both the 10K and the Half. But not only that — they also provide free cake and hot drinks to every single runner in both events! So if you’re taking part in either run, make sure you stop by their tables at the finish line to take advantage of their free sweet treats and hot drinks. Perfect after either distance!

Rockets & Rascals has supported Devon Mind with the Plymouth Harbour Runs since the very first event in October 2022. We’re delighted to be partnering with them again this year, which is going to be even bigger and better than before.
