50 half marathon challenge to raise funds for mental health services

Paul Maxwell, a local former Plymouth Argyle football player and physiotherapist, has set himself the mammoth challenge of running 50 half marathons, to help raise vital funds and awareness for local mental health services.

Paul has set himself this incredible challenge to raise £10,000 for both Devon Mind and local mental health provider, Livewell South West. After recently completing the 13th run, Paul has already raised over £5000 for mental health support services. Since turning 50 earlier this year, Paul has set himself this year-long challenge to ‘change the tape’ and is keen to encourage other members of our community to come along and join his weekend runs, whether that be for a short walk, a 10K, or the whole 13.1 miles.

We will be continuing to share Paul’s journey over the next year and wish him all the very best of luck for many half-marathons to come. You can keep up to date and get involved with Paul’s latest half-marathons across the city, by checking out his Facebook page here.
